A tempest in a Teapot... or chamber pot

Whilst watching Clerks II (not a movie known for its dramatic sound) Steff and I noticed some scenes where there was an unpleasant sound. At first I thought it was the soundtrack, but it happened several times. I finally asked the intelligent crowd at Home Theater Shack as well as the guru of IB (ThomasW) at the Cult (both sites are linked) and got some ideas on how to test. I did the simple tests and found out, sadly that one of my drivers was done. That *really* sucks.
